Chinese urban residents' income up 9.5 percentThe disposable income per capita of China's urban residents reached 5,374 yuan (650 US dollars) in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 9.5 percent, says a report released here by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Wednesday. The per capita cash income of farmers had a real increase of 12.5 percent to 1,586 yuan (192 dollars) for the first half year, up 1.6 and 0.8 percentage points, respectively, from a year earlier. According to an earlier NBS report, the January-March per capita disposable income of urban residents stood at 2,938 yuan (355 dollars), a year-on-year rise of 11.3 percent.
