Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong's current visit will help promote cooperation between Shenzhen and Vietnamese cities, Xu Zongheng, mayor of Shenzhen, a booming city in South China's Guangdong Province, said in Shenzhen on July 21.

During a meeting with visiting Vietnamese President, Xu said many cities in Vietnam have conducted effective exchanges and cooperation with Shenzhen and Luong's current visit will further accelerate cooperation between these cities in the fields of economy, trade and culture.

Luong arrived in Shenzhen Thursday morning from Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province. He paid a visit to Shenzhen Huawei Technologies, a telecommunication systems provider, prior to a round-city tour.

Luong left for the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Thursday afternoon to continue his five-day state visit to China.
