Chile's parliament will promote friendly exchanges with the National People's Congress of China and make efforts to further advance the continuous development of bilateral relations, the country's parliament chief said Thursday in Santiago.
Sergio Romero, president of the National Congress of Chile, made the remarks when meeting with a delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) led by Ma Wenpu, deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
During the meeting, Romero also stressed the importance of strengthening political relations between the two countries and praised China's vital role in international affairs.
Ma, for his part, spoke highly of the friendly relationship between the two countries and their parliaments.
The CPC delegation arrived in Santiago on Wednesday for a visit to the South American country.
