China's tourism earnings rank the world's 7th in 2004

Madrid-based World Tourism Organization issued a report on July 20 saying a new record of 622 billion USD of the international tourism receipts in 2004, an "extraordinary" growth of 10.3 percent.

The World Tourism Organization made a list of the top 10 countries in terms of tourism earnings as expressed in the US dollar: the US (74.5 billion), Spain (45.2 billion), France (40.8 billion), Italy (35.7 billion), Germany (27.7 billion), the UK (27.3 billion), China (25.7 billion), Turkey (15.9 billion), Austria (15.4 billion) and Australia (13 billion).
