Vietnamese president visits Guangxi

Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong expressed his hope that cooperation between Vietnam's northern provinces and China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will be enhanced for the promotion of the friendly relationship between China and Vietnam.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Cao Bochun, secretary of the CPC Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Luong suggests that Guangxi and Vietnam's Quang Ninh, Lang Son, and Cao Bang speed up cooperation in transportation and energy resource.

Cao told Luong that the Kunming-Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh and the Nanning-Lang Son-Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh economic corridors as well as the Beibu Bay economic circle are under discussion and construction.

Guangxi will promote development of the two economic corridors and the economic circle in the fields of transportation, energy resource, tourism, industry, agriculture, and customs passage.

Luong arrived in Nanning, capital of Guangxi, to continue his five-day state visit to China.
