Guerrillas torch 3 passenger buses in eastern Nepal

The anti-government guerrillas in Nepal torched three passenger buses in Morang district in eastern Nepal on Friday, the local police office said.

Two mini-buses operating along Biratnagar-Rangeli area of Morang district were set on fire by a group of guerrillas at Tetariya area of the district, some 500 km east of Kathmandu, the district police office said in a press statement.

The guerrillas disembarked all passengers before setting the bus on fire, the statement said, but nobody was hurt in the incident.

Meanwhile, another mini-bus was set ablaze by the guerrillas at Karsiya area of the district.

Hundreds of passengers have been left stranded as not a single vehicle plied along the route after the incident.
