font size

After a year-long standoff, the fourth round of talks will reopen at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, the venue for the previous three rounds,

Located in the west of Beijing, Diaoyutai, the imperial palace for the emperor's short stays, with a history of more than 800 years, is once again becoming the focus of the world.

In 1959, the Chinese government decided to expand Diaoyutai and built villas of different styles to accommodate distinguished foreign guests attending the 10th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China.

Since then, Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, with a total area of 430 thousand square meters, has received many foreign guests from different continents. Fang Fei Yuan, in particular, has become an important venue for various international meetings.

The new round of talks will open in the Banquet Hall of Fang Fei Yuan, which can seat 1,000 people.

Facing a verdant lawn to the south and a lake dotted with water lilies to the north, Fang Fei Yuan, located in the center of the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, is known for its picturesque scenery.

From the talks between China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States in April 2003 to the previous three rounds of six-nation talks,Fang Fei Yuan had witnessed a series of major multilateral talks on the Korean Peninsular issue.
