It is deja vu all over again at the box office in North America, with "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" still in first place, "Wedding Crashers" second and "Fantastic Four" third, estimates released Sunday show.
"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," starring Johnny Depp, is expected to rake in another 28.3 million dollars over the weekend, boosting its North American take since it's release two weeks ago to 114.1 million dollars, according to the Los Angeles-base box office tracking firm Exhibitor Relations Co. Inc.
"Wedding Crashers," a comedy pairing Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, is expected to gross 26.2 million dollars, and the weekend take of "Fantastic Four" is placed at 12.2 million dollars.
"The Island," a Dreamworks release headed by "Pearl Harbor" director Michael Bay, opened in fourth place with 12.1 million dollars, followed by the debut of "Bad News Bears" (11.5 million dollars).
Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise's "War of the Worlds," another Dreamworks production, still claims the sixth place at the box office charts with 8.8 million dollars after its debut four weeks ago.
The sci-fi film has grossed 208.3 million dollars in North America since its release, making second-best for the year after "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith," which has a 376-million-dollar take.
Final weekend box office figures are due out Monday.
