The delegations of the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the six-party talks began their bilateral meeting Monday afternoon in Beijing.
It was the first time for the two sides to have bilateral meetings before the six-party talks.
Ahead of their meeting, the DPRK delegation had met with the delegation of the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Sunday, while the US delegation exchanged views on the nuclear issue with the ROK delegation early Monday.
The open-ended fourth round of six-party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue will begin on Tuesday.
