font size

China's State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan, who is visiting the United States, will discuss the Korean nuclear issue with the US side, a Chinese official said Tuesday.

Qin Gang, spokesman of the Chinese delegation to the fourth round of the six-party talks, said during a press briefing that Tang began to visit the United States Tuesday and the date of his visit was made earlier.

As whom he will meet, Qin said, Tang will surely meet his counterpart and the US leaders.

The topics should include bilateral relations and issues of common concern, including the Korean nuclear issue, he said.

Tang Jiaxuan, China's state councilor in charge of foreign policy, visited the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) as the special envoy of Chinese President Hu Jintao on July 12, three days after the DPRK announced it would return to the talks.
