All the delegations participating in the ongoing fourth round of six-party talks on Korean Peninsula nuclear issue have adopted a positive, sincere and pragmatic attitude, according to Qin Gang, spokesman of the Chinese delegation.
Qin said at a press conference held on Tuesday afternoon in Beijing that China has held several one-on-one consultations with the other five delegations in recent days.
"The general impression we have got is that all parties involved are positive, sincere and pragmatic in the discussions," said Qin.
All sides have focused on exchanging views in a candid and serious manner on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, Qin said. They all hoped that substantial progress could be made in the current round of talks, added Qin.
According to the spokesman, all the six parties have said that they would cherish the hard-won opportunity of the fourth-round talks and try to seek a way to resolve the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue through dialogues.
He said that all sides agreed to enhance understanding and mutual trust in line with the principles of mutual respect and consultation on an equal footing. They also agreed to give earnest consideration to concerns and requirements of the other parties, and to make efforts to help the talks achieve certain positive results, according to Qin.
