font size

Visiting Guyanan Prime Minister Samuel Hinds said Tuesday in Shanghai that his visit to China offered him an opportunity to see the great development Chinese people have achieved in the past decade.

Vice Mayor of Shanghai Tang Dengjie, on behalf of Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng, met with Samuel Hinds Tuesday night. Tang briefed the guest on the urban construction and cultural development of Shanghai in recent years.

Hinds said his last visit to Shanghai was in 1996 and he was quite impressive with the great changes that have taken place in this city.

He said Guyana is willing to learn from China's experiences in economic development and construction of a harmonious society.

Noting that bilateral trade is gaining sound momentum, Hinds said Guyana mainly exports timber to China while importing motorbikes and garments.

Samuel Hinds arrived here Monday afternoon. During his stay in Shanghai, Hinds visited Pudong District and Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center.
