Sports journalist of local radio station RCN Alberto Martinez Prader, died Wednesday in a road accident when covering the third stage of the Tour of Colombia, said the local media.

The vehicle carried Martinez fell into a ravine five minutes prior to arriving in the finish line on the road between the municipality of Calarca and the city of Armenia, capital of Quindio department (center-west).

Injured in the accident were journalist Hector Urrego, driver Faber Toro and operator Jose Fernandez Lopez, who were taken to a hospital in Armenia.

Sigifredo Agudeno, driver of another RCN vehicle, said "we were coming down in the final five kilometers to Armenia, then we managed to take Calarca over, when car number two, driven by Faber Toro, lost control in a curve and fell. Prader took the worst part."
