"We believe that Pakistan has paid a heavy price in the fight against terrorism, we are following with great admiration the precedence and the determination of the Pakistani government particularly of President General Pervez Musharraf," ambassador Hussein Hairdy told Pakistan TV in a telephone interview.

He said the government and the people of Egypt appreciate the efforts of Pakistan government to project a positive image of Islam. The message coming from Pakistan is that "let us not link Islam with terrorism," he noted.

The ambassador said his country fully supports Pakistan's position that the root causes of terrorism should also be addressed from all across the world to have a peaceful world order.

Hairdy reiterated the Egyptian government has categorically denied the news reports regarding involvement of Pakistani nationals in the blasts in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, which killed over 60 people.

Asked who could be possibly responsible for this incident, the ambassador said the investigation is still going on and it would be learnt at the completion of investigation that who the perpetrators are.

Earlier reports suggest that the Egyptian police are searching for six Pakistani men who were in Sharm el-Sheikh during the attacks and have since disappeared.
