Pakistani Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said Saturday terrorism is the biggest challenge that the whole nation is confronted with at present, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan.
Addressing the Passing Out Parade of 27th Batch of Pakistan Coast Guards in the southern port city of Karachi, Sherpao said, "Let's pledge together to work not only for discouraging such elements but also for complete elimination of the same to ensure progress and prosperity of our beloved country."
He said that a terrorist can never be a well-wisher to a country, nation, religion, organization or individual, and that if he believes he is contributing with his acts to a noble cause, he is pursuing a totally wrong perception, which is not only causing damage to Pakistan but the whole Islamic world as well.
Sherpao congratulated the coast guards on their achievements in the war against narcotics, illegal immigration and in conducting relief work for the flood victims which also include setting up of medical camps.
