Car bomb hits police checkpoint in central Baghdad

A car bomb went off at a mobile police checkpoint near the Iraqi National Theater in central Baghdad on Saturday, killing at least three policemen and wounding about 20 people, police said.

"A car bomb, parked close to a mobile police checkpoint near the Iraqi National Theater, detonated and killed at least three policemen and wounded about 20 people, including policemen," an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Iraqi security forces cordoned off the scene in Karada district in central Baghdad.
