Wolfensohn asked to help PNA control passages
font size

The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) urged on Saturday quartet committee representative James Wolfensohn to prod Israel to give a clear answer on the Palestinians' control of passages.

Mohamed Dahlan, Palestinian civil affairs minister, told reporters following a meeting with Wolfensohn that the PNA is seeking Wolfensohn's efforts to help in getting Israeli answers concerning Rafah terminal.

"We urged Wolfensohn to concentrate his efforts this week on the future of Rafah crossing on the borders with Egypt as well as a safe passage between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank," said Dahlan.

Dahlan also said the PNA is studying the issue of using rubble after settlers' homes are demolished.

"We have a survey presented by local and international experts on the possibilities of using the rubble of settlers' houses. If we find out that it can be used, we would, and if not, the rubble should be removed out of the Gaza Strip," he said.
