Lebanon's parliament approved Saturday the new government of Prime Minister Fuad Siniora, which won the key confidence vote with an overwhelming majority.
Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri announced that the Siniora cabinet won 92 votes in the 128-seat assembly, while 14 voted against and two abstained.
Other 20 lawmakers were absent at the session of the parliament.
Siniora formed his 24-member cabinet recently after the parliament was elected months ago, which was dominated by anti-Damascus coalitions for the first time since the 1975-90 civil war.
