Chinese scholar publishes book on China-Nepal relations

A research-based book entitled "Nepal's National Security Strategy and China-Nepal Relations", authored by a Chinese scholar was published in Nepal Saturday.

On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, the book in the Nepali language, published by the China Study Center of Nepal, enumerates the policy towards Nepal adopted by the various imperialistic powers, its impact on Nepal's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and its fallout.

In his book, Associate Professor Wang Zong from the Henan University of China described Nepal's geographical location and the surrounding geo-political conditions, the reasons for border-related wars between Nepal and China in the pre-modern period, and the present friendly relations subsisting between the two countries.

Wang told Xinhua on Sunday that the development of the strategic, security, economic and political relations between China and Nepal, which are based on the principles of peaceful coexistence, to the mutual interests of the two countries, will be important in the long run for the two neighboring countries.

President of the China Study Center Madan Regmi said that the center has adopted the policy of publishing such books on a continuous basis for facilitating the exchange of information on economy, trade, politics, security, art and culture between Nepal and China and to promote relations between the two countries at the people's level.

Wang Zong, who came to Nepal for doing research on the culture and history of Nepal, learnt the Nepali language during the course of his research and authored the book.

Another book "The Wonderful Brush" -- a collection of folk-tales from China, translated from Chinese into the Nepali language by Wang, was also published here last month.
