Key state-owned enterprises increase production, profit in first half year

In the first half of 2005, the key state-owned enterprises scored a total industrial output value of 3004.26 billion yuan, up 23.5 percent.

The revenue from their main business operations stood at 4048.78 billion yuan, up 21.8 percent. By the end of June, their inventories amounted to 324.3 billion yuan, up 18.3 percent.

The profits of seven industries including petroleum, telecommunication, transportation, electricity, coal and tobacco surpassed 10 billion yuan each and totaled 305.2 billion yuan.
