According to the bidding delegation of Translators Association of China, Chinese city of Shanghai has won the right to host the 18th World Translation Conference by a majority at the 17th World Translation Conference of the International Federation of Translators (FIT, Fédération Internationale des Traducteures) held in Tempere, the third largest city in Finland. It is the first time for China and even for Asia to host such a conference.
