font size

The stranded Russian mini-submarine and its seven crew members resurfaced alive Sunday after being ensnared on the Pacific seabed for nearly three days, Russian news agencies reported.

All the seven crew members are alive and have stepped out of the submarine, Vladimir Pepelyayev, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Russian Navy, told the Itar-Tass news agency.

The submarine was lifted to surface with all the crew members in it at 0725 Moscow time (0325 GMT).

More details will be known in a while, Pepelyayev said.
