Shangri-la group sets up committee for quality service during Beijing Olympic Games
font size

China's biggest luxurious hotel group Shangri-la established a special committee to provide quality service during Beijing Olympic Games.

The 2008 Olympic Games will be held in Beijing and Qingdao, so five hotels in two cities jointly established such committee, the first of this kind among world famous hotels in China.

The committee will mainly be involved in businesses including room control, price supervision, hotel reservation and cooperation with other domestic hotels. The five hotels already started upgrading facilities and employee training.

Beijing Olympic will become a historic event. Shangri-la's initiation of such committee will promote overall hotel improvement and make quality preparation for the game, said Yu Debin, deputy director of Beijing Tourism Bureau.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, the hotel chain has 47 hotels worldwide.
