The latest statistics report shows that the urban per capita disposable income of residents living in 15 cities of the Yangtze River Delta exceeded 8,000 yuan in the first half of this year, reaching to 8,002 for the first time, 2,628 yuan more than the national average level. Of them, Shanghai was ranked the top with 9,657 yuan. The urban per capital disposable income of the eight cities in Jiangsu Province was 7,085 yuan, the fast-growth area in the delta. The disposable income of the six cities in Zhejiang Province was 8,948 yuan.
Experts believe that the urban residents in Shanghai and Zhejiang Province are fully employed with strong career desire, receiving higher labor wages from their work units, which is the root cause that the inhabitants' income in Jiangsu was lower than Zhejiang.
