Six Iraqi policemen killed in Baghdad

Six Iraqi policemen were killed on Tuesday in Baghdad by unknown gunmen, police said.

The gunmen ambushed a police patrol at around 8 a.m. (GMT 0400) on Tuesday in the New Baghdad district of the capital, an Interior Minister source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Iraqi police frequently become the targets of insurgents. According to government statistics, over 765 Iraqi policemen have been killed until July this year.
