Pakistan says US, Britain deny exercises in India-controlled Kashmir
font size

Pakistan said Tuesday that the United States and Britain have denied reports that they have planned joint military exercises with Indian forces in the India- controlled Kashmir.

The US and British governments have refuted reports of any such exercises in the India-controlled Kashmir and stated that they have no such intentions, Pakistani Foreign Office spokesman Naeem Khan said in a statement.

Reports Friday quoted Indian Air Chief S. P.Tyagi as saying India is going to hold joint air exercises with US air forces in the India-controlled Kashmir in November and by the start of next year with British air forces.

The matter has been taken up with both governments in Islamabad as well as their respective capitals, Naeem said.

Pakistan and India have fought three major wars since partition and two of them have been fought over the disputed Kashmir.
