A seminar was held in Kathmandu Sunday to mark the golden jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal.
"An active collaboration with China in the field of science and technology could contribute meaningfully to our own efforts to develop our scientific capability," Vice-Chancellor of the Royal Nepal Academy of Science and Technology Dayananda Bajracharya said at the seminar.
There is a great scope for Nepal to learn from the expertise and experience of China, Bajracharya added.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Sun Heping said: "Many Nepali friends often appreciate both political and economic help given by China," and "China is also grateful to Nepal for its firm and strong support in the issues of Taiwan, Tibet and human rights."
The seminar with the theme "Nepal-China Relations: Future Prospects" was organized by the China Study Center (CSC), a non- governmental Nepal-China friendship organization.
The seminar has raised the awareness of the leaders and intellectuals of both Nepal and China that they have the responsibility to work together to build a prosperous Nepal-China relation, said CSC President Madan Regmi.
About 50 people attended the seminar.
