ZTE denies acquisition negotiation with Marconi
font size

British telecom equipment maker Marconi Corporation is reportedly in talks with European telecom manufacturers including Siemens and Nokia for its acquisition worth 650 mln pounds (1.2 bln US dollars).

In response to rumors saying China's ZTE and Huawei Technologies intend to acquire Marconi, an official with ZTE told the reporter of Shanghai-based International Finance News that ZTE did not hold acquisition negotiation with Marconi. As a public listed company, ZTE will definitely release public announcement should the talks take place.

The telecom circles in Britain have shown doubts about Huawei's acquisition of Marconi. Meantime the acquisition of Marconi is subject to changes, for a lot of buyers are involved in the deal. This will make it harder for Huawei to get Marconi.
