Benz's Chinese partner leads nation in growth of truck sales
font size

Baotou North-Benz Heavy-duty Truck Co. LTD in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region jumped to the top in growth rates of heavy-duty truck sales for the second quarter of 2005, amid a nationwide downturn in the heavy auto industry.

As the first heavy-duty truck company in China to cooperate with Mercedes Benz, a German auto giant, the company has outdone its competitors by applying advanced technology and updating managerial concepts.

This year the company collaborated with the prestigious Qinghua University and set up a research and development center. The company has also set up new production requirements, devoting itself to making trucks with ergonomic features.

According to statistics, the company has so far sold a total of 291 types of trucks, 149 of which meet the new company requirements.
