font size

China will conduct large-scope monitoring on anthrax to keep up with the epidemic situation of the disease and regular pattern of its spread.

The Health Ministry has selected Gangsu, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing and Qinghai for the monitoring. Aside from routine monitoring, the monitoring stations will also perform monitoring on anthrax pollution and serology as well as epidemic among animals.

In past five yeas, China reported 400 to 1,000 anthrax patients annually, most of whom living in western regions like Guizhou, Xinjiang, Gansu, Sichuan, Guangxi and Yunnan.
