According to the data offered by the Shenzhen Bureau of Trade and Industry, Shenzhen now has 50,000 brands of its own, completely getting rid of the awkward situation of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).

By June of 2005, Shenzhen has already owned 54,800 registered trademarks, of which nearly 50,000 belong to its own, and has shaped 3 brands with annual sales exceeding 10 billion yuan, 5 brands with more than 5 billion yuan, and 18 with over 1 billion yuan, witnessing a batch of famous brands coming forth as Huawei, ZTE, CIMC, Konka, Skyworth, and Great Wall.
