News has been released about the dismissals of several senior officials of Apple China, namely He Zhongqiang, Apple's Asia-Pacific vice president, Li Bin, general manager in China, channel director in China, three general managers in east, south and southwest China and quite a few personnel at manager's level.

Apple's public statement authenticates the news about the dismissals is true but the reason is unknown.

The statement says, Apple made such personnel adjustments in order to quicken its pace of development in China, which is an important market. From the day of the release of the statement, Apple's Asia-Pacific business will be directly reported to vice president John Brandon and Kang Zhiyong will be the general manager of Apple in China.

He Zhongqiang was appointed vice president of Asia-Pacific on November 15, 2002. He was previously general manager and director of IBM's greater-China zone; Zhao Fang, who joined Apple China in August 2003, was previously in charge of channel in south China for Microsoft; Li Bin, previously vice general manager of IBM's PC business in China, joined in half a year ago.
