Ukrainian Anna Bessonova outstood prominently on Fridayin Izmir from the 32 contests in the 23rd World Universiade's rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around final to win the gold with 64.425 points.
The other two medallists, Irina Tchachina of Russia and another Ukrainian Natalia Godunko, finished at 61.850 and 61.750 points respectively.
Anna topped all the four rotations of rope, ball, ribbon and clubs to win the title, while her compatriot Godunko was overtook by the silver medallist only in the last round. Tchachina scored 15.650 points in ribbon, surpassing Godunko by 1.0 point in the round and 0.1 point in combined total.
The two gymnasts that China fielded for the individual all-around, Zhang Shuo and Sun Dan, finished the 20th and 28th respectively.
"The Russian and Ukrainian gymnasts usually have the dominance in the sport," said Chinese coach Xia Yanfei, explaining that the results of the Chinese players generally represented their levels.
Four individual gold medals will be decided on Saturday from the apparatus of rope, ball, ribbon and clubs.
