Inner Mongolia strives for an ambitious outlook for civil aviation
font size

It is reported on August 21 the Inner Mongolia makes a new blueprint for the local civil aviation sector. Within 3-5 years, the Hohhot airport in the capital city of Inner Mongolia will grow to serve as an important regional pivot airport and the Baotou airport as an important arterial airport in North Chin.

Since 2003, the Inner Mongolia Civil Airport Group Company has quickened the development of civil aviation. Its annual passenger-cargo turnover has increased rapidly, and the pattern of civil aviation turns a new look.

White Tower airport in Huhhot was put into operation on April 12 this year, the reconstruction and extension projects of Baotou airport and Hailaer airport will begin within this year; in next two to three years, the investment on airport construction in Inner Mongolia will reach nearly 2 billion yuan, twice as much as of the total investment on airport construction there since the birth of PRC. Advantages in local airport resources have already shown their potential in market competition.
