Wang Zhongyu, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with a delegation of the Association of Friends of China (AFC) under the Italian Parliament, in Beijing Wednesday.

Wang gave guests an account of China's social and economic development. He also spoke highly of the friendly relations between China and Italy, and appreciated the AFC's efforts to promote friendship between China and Italy.

The Italian parliamentary delegation, led by Senator Renzo Gubert, arrived in Beijing Tuesday on a visit to China as guest of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
