A reception was held the Aichi World Expo for the promotion of Shanghai World Expo on August 19.

Zhou Hanmin on behalf of the Shanghai World Expo and Ioku Hiroyuki on behalf of the Aichi World Expo delivered speeches at the conference. Also attending the conference were 230 guests from about 90 countries and international organizations such as the US, Australia, Spain and UN, Japanese Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry, the Aichi Expo and Aichi prefecture.

Zhou said in his speech he is especially thankful for the precious experience the Aichi Expo association has offered Shanghai. China would adhere strictly to the Convention on International Exhibitions and the commitments it made when bidding to host World Expo, strive to learn from the successful experience of various countries in holding the Expo and make the Shanghai World Expo to be held in 2010 a grand occasion for people from various countries to gather together in a friendly atmosphere, cooperate and seek all-win results.

Zhou said in order to make the Shanghai Expo better understood by various circles Shanghai would hold an activity called Shanghai Week before the Aichi Expo closes.
