HK chief executive says attack on boy "intolerable"
font size

Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang pledged on Friday that the police will do their best to apprehend the culprits involved in a case in which a seven-year- old boy was attacked by two masked men in Kwai Chung on Thursday.

Speaking to the media, Tsang said "it was an intolerable act and he hoped the boy would recover soon".

He said he had contacted the commissioner of police who pledged all-out efforts to apprehend the culprits and put them before the law.

"I have absolute sympathy and fond feelings for the little boy. I hope he will recover soon. The Social Welfare Department colleagues have been in contact with the family and will extend whatever help possible," Tsang said.

He called on eye witnesses of the incident to provide information to the police.

The boy was chopped by two masked men in a Kwai Chung street Thursday evening, and is now receiving treatment in Yan Chai Hospital where he is in serious condition.
