Edbiz in Tibet develops by leaps and bounds

Two postgraduates of Tibet University talk to each other at their commencement in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region on June 28, 2004. The edbiz in Tibet has developed rapidly. By the end of 2004, there were 1,010 schools and the enrollment rate of school-aged children reached 94.7 percent. The illiterate rate of adults reduced to 22 percent. Furthermore, the Chinese government has launched a boarding school project in Tibet with free charges on board and lodging as well as tuition in order to aid Tibetan children receive education.
