font size

Leading Chinese lawmakers attended in Beijing Sunday a lecture on the administrative enforcement law system which was presided over by Wu Bangguo, chairman of China's National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee.

The lecture, titled "China's administrative enforcement law system," was given by Xin Chunying, member of NPC Standing Committee and deputy director of the standing committee's legislative affairs commission.

Xin said the contemporary administrative enforcement system is an outcome of expanded government functions and law-governing administration, and it is an important tool of law enforcement.

According to Xin, the legislative affairs commission started drafting administrative enforcement law in March 1999 and worked out a draft for soliciting opinions in 2002. It will continue to do research and solicit opinions on the draft for further amendments.
