Myanmar declares four anti-govt organizations as unlawful associations

The Myanmar government has declared four anti-government organizations including its members and other related groups and individuals operating on the Myanmar-Thai border areas as unlawful associations, the official newspaper New Light of Myanmar reported Monday.

These organizations are the National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma (NCGUB), the Federation of Trade Union - Burma (FTUB), the All Burma Students' Democratic Front (ABSDF) and the Shan State Army-South (SSA-S), a notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs was quoted as saying.

These organizations were outlawed for the reasons of endangering the country's law enforcement, stability and peace and tranquillity, the notification said.

The NCGUB is known as being led by expatriate Sein Win, while the FTUB by Maung Maung (alias) Pyithit Nyunt Wai, the ABSDF by Than Khe and the SSA-S by Ywet Sit.
