China under threats by terrorist forces like "Eastern Turkestan" over last 10 years
font size

Judging by the recent terrorist activities terrorism has acquired some new traits, that is, large-scale terrorist attacks keep happening, which lead to serious consequences, said Zhao Yongchen, deputy director-general of the anti-terrorist bureau under Chinese Ministry of Public Security at the 22nd Congress on the Law of the World on August 29.

Zhao is also the Chinese chairman of the theme of "international terrorism" at the congress.

Zhao said the theater hostage event in Moscow, the Beslan hostage event, the Bali bombing in Indonesia, the "March 11" blast in Spain and the "July 7" explosions in London are all typical cases.

Zhao said, China also faces the actual threat and long-term potential terrorist threat. The last ten years have shown that the terrorist threats China has been faced with are mainly from the terrorist activities by the "Eastern Turkestan" terrorist forces, international terrorist organizations and terrorist forces both at home and abroad.

The 22nd Congress on the Law of the World will be held from September 4 to 10 in Beijing and Shanghai.
