Chinese premier encourages university students to help farmers

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has expressed his appreciation of a group of students from the China Agricultural University (CAU) for compiling a series of agricultural popular science for rural residents.

In a letter to these students who wrote to the premier to show their strong will to render their service to repay the kindness of the motherland, the premier said he is very glad to learn that the students have tried to help farmers with what they learned in school.

"You are the hope of the contemporary students," said Wen in the letter. He congratulated the students on the 100th founding anniversary of the CAU.
