font size

Togolese President Faure Gnassingbe on Wednesday in Lome pledged his country's continuous adherence to the one-China policy during a meeting with Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang.

Gnassingbe said his country pays great attention to its relationship with China and will continue to acknowledge the one-China policy.

The president expressed the hope that Togo and China would expand cooperation in various fields and that their long history of friendship would continue.

Li said the Chinese government cherishes its friendship with Togo and is willing to contribute to joint efforts with Togo to push the ties to a higher level.

The Chinese official arrived here earlier on Wednesday on a working visit. He is also expected to hold talks with Togolese Prime Minister

Edem Kodjo during the visit.
