Chinese-Malay research center inaugurated in Beijing
font size

A Chinese-Malay research center was inaugurated in Beijing Thursday at the Beijing Foreign Studies University, in a bid to promote Malay studies in China.

Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, who is currently in Beijing for a seven-day official visit, attended the inauguration.

Razak said he hoped the center will conduct thorough research on the Malay civilization and work as a bridge between the Chinese and Malaysian peoples.

Prof. Hao Ping, president of the Beijing Foreign Studies University, said the establishment of the center will help improve the teaching and research quality of Malay in China and give a positive push to bilateral political, economic and cultural exchanges.
