A special program to mark the golden jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China and the 30th anniversary of China Radio International (CRI) Nepali Service concluded Friday in a western city of Nepal.

The commemoration program including a Chinese film exhibition and a talk function entitled "Prospects of Nepal-China Educational Exchanges" concluded in Pokhara city of Kaski district, some 200 km west of Kathmandu, which was organized by Pokhara CRI Listeners Club, a non-governmental friendship organization.

"The Chinese government attaches great importance to the cooperation and exchanges with other Asian countries in the field of education, as the friendship between China and those countries has been developed remarkably since the founding of the People's Republic of China," Jia Xiaoling, an official of the Chinese Embassy to Nepal, said at the talk function.

"The existing friendship between Nepal and China can be further strengthened by such educational exchange programs," Zou Zhaojun, chief of CRI Nepali service, said in a congratulation message sent to the function.

"The aim of the program is to provide ample knowledge of China's development to the people of Nepal and to establish and expand mutual relations between the educational institutions of China and Nepal in the future," said Melsam Ojha, chairman of the club, who was also the organizer of the program.

Earlier, the club, with the association of the Chinese Embassy to Nepal, held a one-month long film festival, which showed Chinese films and documentaries in more than 10 secondary level schools of the city.
