China firmly opposed US decision to re-impose quotas on two categories of Chinese clothing and textile products, said Chong Quan, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce Friday.

"Chinese government resumed the rights to take further actions within the WTO (World Trade Organization) framework," said Chong.

The United States announced Thursday that it would limit imports of bras and fabric made with synthetic filament threads from China.

It was also extending the deadline for making decisions on quotas about four other textile cases including knit fabric.
