The national soccer teams of Venezuela and Peru will meet on Saturday at the Venezuelan city of Maracaibo in a South American qualifier for Germany 2006 World Cup, local press said Friday.
These two teams, both with 15 points, are to play at Jose Encarnacion Romero Stadium of Maracaibo, some 600 kilometers west of Caracas.
Peru will not count with striker Claudio Pizarro, of Bayern Munich (Germany), and goalkeeper Leao Butron, of Alianza Lima.
Venezuelan midfielder Luis Vera, who has not appeared in most of the fixtures because of lessions, said injuries decimated his national team.
Venezuela has never qualified to a World Cup and in contrast with other countries of the region, its national sport is baseball.
In the last rounds of the South American qualifying zone, Venezuela will play Paraguay and Brazil, while Peru will meet Argentina and Bolivia.
The Venezuelan line-up will likely be: Gilberto Angelucci, Hector Gonzalez, Leonel Vielma, Alejandro Cichero, Jorge Rojas, Leopoldo Jimenez, Luis Vera, Gabriel Urdaneta, Juan Arango, Giancarlo Maldonado and Ruberth Moran.
And Peru's line-ups are Erick Delgado, Jorge Huaman, Luis Guadalupe, Martin Hidalgo, Miguel Villalta, Juan Carlos La Rosa, Jose Mendoza, Juan Manuel Vargas, Juan Cominges, Jefferson Farfan and Paolo Guerrero.
The referee will be Brazilian Marcio Rezende.
