President Hu delivers speech commemorating victory of war against Japanese aggression

Chinese President Hu Jintao delivered a speech at a grand gathering in Beijing Saturday, marking the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese invasion and the world anti-Fascist War.

"We are holding grand meeting here to commemorate, together with the people around the world, the 60th anniversary of the victory, a victory of justice over evil, light over darkness, and progress over reaction," said Hu, who is also the general-secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission.
