Supporters of President Hugo Chavez staged an anti-assassination protest in the capital on Saturday after American religious broadcaster Pat Robertson suggested that Chavez should be killed.
More than 100 people took to the streets to demand justice against Robertson, founder of the Christian Coalition of America, who suggested last month that Chavez should be assassinated because he poses a threat to the United States.
The marchers appealed for the involvement of Venezuelan prosecutors in the case against Robertson, whom they called "enemyof Venezuela."
Venezuela and the United States have been at odds since President Chavez took office six years ago.
Caracas criticized Washington for supporting an abortive coup aimed at overthrowing the Chavez government in April 2002. Chavez also said the United States had plans to invade Venezuela and assassinate him, but the US government denied the accusations.
