Chinese Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai and EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson might have found themselves in a difficult position in their talks over blocked China-made textiles, a Chinese aide said in Beijing Sunday night.

At about 10:30 p.m., Bo left the negotiation hall and entered another room of the Beijing Hotel, where the talks have been goingsince morning.

Not long after, Mandelson appeared at the door of the negotiation hall.

When asked if the talks had failed, he denied and said they might need another half to one hour's discussion.

Mandelson arrived in Beijing Saturday for a summit of Chinese and EU leaders scheduled for Monday.

Both Bo and Mandelson are trying to reach a deal to solve the imminent problem of millions of items of China-made textile products blocked in European ports.

Before leaving Brussels for Beijing, Mandelson called on EU member states to take quick actions to unblock stockpiled Chinese clothes to serve the interest of Europe.

The impasse between China and the EU over the blocked textile products has left stores in EU countries short of seasonal clothesto sell.

Some 80 million items of Chinese clothing have been prevented from entering the EU market after the new quotas agreed with Chinawere quickly filled.
